We Find Evidence of Life!

We find evidence of Spring and new growth at Red  Rocks.  This particular area was very protected and green is showing! It looks like grape hyacinth, the blurry one is sage, and the last seems to be hollyhock.

Matthew Winters Park

Today, Donna and I went for a several hour hike at Matthew Winter in Red Rocks. We marveled at the beauty, we marveled that people from all over the world pay big bucks to what we did and have the fun we had. We also marveled at the CCC from FDR and privately wished that Obama would do something similar. Here are our pictures.
Yak trax were a good idea for part of the trail.

We Are Hiking!

Today we used yaktrax for the first time. It is our new favorite thing! We must let Oprah know. We did not slip even once on a very icy trail. Mt. Galbraith Park.  We are on top of the world.  It is warm; felt like 60 or 70 degrees.  Saw some deer.  Everyone we met, (all six people) envied our yaktrax.  They saw us coming down the path, straight and tall, not slipping  and wondered, how do those women do it?  What a delightful day. Click on the picture to see it big time!

White Ranch Park

Val and Carol hiked White Ranch Park.  It was very snowy, not enough for snow shoes but plenty for a very slow and vigorous walk.  It took us almost four hours to hike 4.5 miles!!  But beautiful.  Such views of the Table Mountains.  It was VERY COLD.
